Bio.

Wanda

I love God and the people that He continually brings into my life.

Life is about giving God true worship and bringing others to Him. I am constantly grateful for the many opportunities that God gives me to do so whether it is with you, my next-door neighbour or somebody, somewhere around the world.

I am a wife, mom, mother-in-law, and yes... nana.  Yup; and I'm proud of it!!

I love music and what can be done through it!

Not only can it be used to express my heart to God, but also gives opportunity for tons of others to join in the musical conversation.

I simply want to give people, Jesus.
My driving passion is God's love.  He has given me so much and I simply want to give Him to others.  I am convinced that there are many who hurt in silence and it is my desire to bring some hope, faith, and healing where there has been pain and discouragement.  We were all created for incredible purposes and I want to be a part in encouraging others to find it.

I grew up in a Christian home and gave my life to God when I was only 5 years old. I have always been singing, (so my brothers would tell you as I really annoyed them - especially on family trips!). I started playing guitar and writing songs when I was 13. At the age of 19, I married this wonderful guy named Bruce and when I was 20 had our first child... and the rest is history!!

Music has always been a huge part of my life. I started singing publicly when a friend of ours overheard me humming away while I was doing the dishes. He practically forced me to sing in front of our little church. I was 13 … and I was terrified! I think my guitar strap fell off at the end of the song & I couldn’t even finish… ha!

But God
has a way of maturing us if we let Him, serving only to enhance the different gifts that He liberally gives to us. He has used many circumstances to shape who I am today and lovingly continues that process. His timing is always right. I’ve had the privilege of learning through blessing and through tragedy; through unconditional love and through rejection. God has given me a wonderful life and I thank Him for every experience as more and more I realize that the ‘glory of knowing Him far outweighs any pain’ I may have endured thus far. God is faithful and has always led me past anger & distrust to find Him again. It’s to Him that I sing. It’s because of Him that I write and share and it’s to Him that I endeavour to bring others to.

The songs on ‘the View’ reflect some of that journey. ‘Meet Me’ is my turn-around song as it was birthed from one of my deepest moments of despair. It thrills me and humbles me that so many use this song corporately and privately. 'Simply Beautiful' is my most recent release and is just that; simple songs of worship to our beautiful God.  I am excited to hear the feedback that it is receiving.

What is my calling? It is not unlike yours... "to lift Jesus high wherever I go and to make disciples of all nations..." (Matthew 28:20). May we be ever faithful and focused on giving Jesus to the world in everything that we say & do.

In a nutshell...
  • My journey has been full and fun over the past number of years - most of which has been done alongside and in support of my husband Bruce... including raising 5 kids, leading a youth group, living in Israel for a season with Kibbutz Shalom, directing a Circle Square Ranch for 10 years (well, Bruce directed and I helped where I could... ha!), pastoring at Yeschurch in Brantford, ON and now, working once again with Circle Square Ranch and Crossroads Family of Ministries.
  • I have released three albums (Simply Beautiful EP - 2009, Meet Me - 2001 and The View-2000).
  • I am frequently asked to minister (teach, sing, and/or lead in worship) and have had the privilege to do this both nationally and internationally in a variety of settings:  Television ('100 Huntley Street'), Concert Halls, Schools & Churches (United Kingdom; Peru; Panama, India) and Conferences & Retreats (‘Full Circle', Women Alive’). One of my greatest joys is that I have been able to participate in ministry with believers from almost every denomination imaginable. I love that!
  • What I enjoy most though is working with Bruce, as God keeps taking us on these incredible adventures.
